Tyson Fury at White House, Dana White teases major announcement
Tyson Fury showed up at the White House this week and told reporters that Dana White will soon make a "massive, massive" announcement involving the former heavyweight champion.
The visit marked Fury's first trip to the United States in five years. Speaking with UFC broadcaster Jon Anik at the White House, Fury said he would let the Zuffa Boxing CEO reveal what the two have planned, per BoxingScene.
Fury-Joshua fight location remains disputed
The announcement almost certainly concerns Fury's long-discussed super fight with Anthony Joshua. BoxingScene reported Friday that Fury has an open-ended deal on venue, though Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn said his fighter signed to compete in the U.K. and would need to renegotiate for any other location.
White has maintained Zuffa Boxing will be involved despite objections from Hearn and Fury's U.K. promoter Frank Warren, both of whom insist Zuffa will have no part in the bout. SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles has been mentioned as one possibility, while others have speculated White could take the fight to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the same venue that hosted Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford last September.
Joshua is scheduled for a July 25 tuneup against Kristian Prenga. Fury has been targeted for a Warren-promoted card August 1 in Dublin.
