Tyson Fury warns Moses Itauma risks being rushed like Jared Anderson

Tyson Fury says Moses Itauma needs more seasoning before stepping into high-stakes heavyweight fights, warning the 21-year-old could get exposed if promoters rush him the way Jared Anderson was rushed.

Fury, who has sparred with Itauma across multiple training camps, told iFL TV he sees genuine star potential in the British prospect but would only take a fight against him if substantial money was on the table. "I don't need to fight f*cking kids," Fury said, per Bad Left Hook. "Unless it's going to be big money, why would I want to fight Moses for f*ck all?" He pointed out that Itauma lacks both a major title and the broad fan following that would justify a marquee payday.

Itauma's Potential and the Risk of Moving Too Fast

Fury praised Itauma's speed, power, and ring intelligence but stressed the young heavyweight has won no major titles in roughly three years as a professional. "He's definitely the real deal," Fury said, adding that Itauma listens well and absorbs instruction. Still, Fury invoked Anderson's recent loss to Martin Bakole as a cautionary tale. "This can happen to anybody," he said. "Clip him on the chin, game over. At 21 you don't have the toughness you do at 31. Match him too soon, and you get found out."

Fury also dismissed Oleksandr Usyk's recent comments about not wanting to "break" Itauma by fighting him, calling the stance calculated rather than protective. Usyk, approaching 40, has little incentive to face a dangerous young contender for minimal reward, Fury argued. If Usyk wins, he beat a prospect; if he loses, he lost to a kid.

Itauma is expected to announce his next opponent within the coming weeks as he continues his climb through the heavyweight ranks.
