Travis Pastrana to backflip dirt bike over White House lawn at UFC event
Nitro Circus stuntman Travis Pastrana will backflip a dirt bike over the South Lawn this Saturday during the UFC White House event, adding a motocross spectacle to what is already an unprecedented combat sports card.
Pastrana told the Capital Gazette that modified ramps from his own facility are being brought in to clear the necessary height. "We're bringing in modified ramps from Pastrana-land to get way higher than the Octagon in order to see the White House," he said, per MMA Mania. "It's going to be a pretty big jump in order to get that picture of my motorcycle with the White House in the background."
Pastrana skips rally event for White House jump
The stunt comes at a cost. Pastrana is missing the Southern Ohio rally event on the same date, a decision that could affect his shot at a season championship. His team at Subaru was not thrilled with the conflict, he said, but understood the significance of the opportunity.
UFC CEO Dana White arranged the jump as part of the promotion's event at the nation's capital. An exact time for the stunt has not been announced, but it will take place on Saturday, June 13.
