Tim Tszyu Vows To Retire Spence

Tim Tszyu isn't just looking for a victory when he steps into the ring against Errol Spence Jr. on Saturday—he's looking to close the book on the latter’s career.

For Spence, the fight serves as a high-profile return to prove he still belongs among the sport's elite following a three-year hiatus. For Tszyu, it’s a career-defining moment to solidify his legacy by taking down an all-time great. While Tszyu maintains deep respect for Spence's accomplishments, the 31-year-old Australian was brutally candid about his intentions once the bell rings.

“Years ago, I remember watching Spence while I was fighting at small venues. Here we are years later, and I get to do what I’ve always wanted. I respect what he’s done and achieved, but there comes times in people’s journey where they’ve had enough. I think I’ve picked the right time to face Errol... I want to punch him everywhere as hard as I can. It’s not personal, but of course I want to make this his last fight,” Tszyu

Spence, 36, enters the ring in Sydney fully aware of the skepticism surrounding his long layoff. However, the former unified welterweight king insists he isn't feeling the heat of public expectation.

“There are definitely a lot of questions about how I’m gonna come back. I’m ready and I’ve been training hard. There’s no pressure on me, because I’m not trying to prove something to anybody. I’m looking to prove to myself that I still have it,” Spence
