Stevenson-Haney Offer On Table

A fight between undefeated champions Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney is still unconfirmed, though talks are moving on a proposed November 28 date in Atlanta.

Haney’s father and trainer, Bill Haney, says an offer has been made for a 145-pound catchweight. “There has been a challenge to their team to take the fight at 145 and take it on the 28th of November in Atlanta. The offer is on the table,” Bill Haney.

Weight has been the main obstacle. Stevenson, who holds The Ring and WBO junior welterweight titles, first asked for 144 pounds with a 10-pound next-day rehydration limit. Haney, the WBO welterweight champion, countered with 145 and no rehydration clause, which Stevenson then accepted. No deal has been announced, and Stevenson hasn’t publicly accepted the November 28 date.
