Serrano Draws Level With Martin's All-Time KO Record

Amanda Serrano has drawn level with Christy Martin's all-time women's boxing knockout record, recording her 32nd stoppage victory with a second-round finish over Cheyenne Hanson that was never in doubt from the opening bell.

The performance itself was one-sided from the first exchange. Serrano was in complete control throughout, demonstrating the levels that separate a seven-division champion from a challenger unable to handle the pace or the power. The finish came when it came — the only question in the second round was when the referee would intervene, not whether he would need to.

The referee waved off the contest at 2:25 of round two after Serrano landed a sustained barrage of punches that left her challenger with no answer. The win moves Serrano to 49-4-1 with 32 knockouts, matching the record held by the iconic Martin and setting up the possibility of outright ownership of the mark in her very next fight. Serrano acknowledged that target directly in the post-fight interview.

"This is my time. With the three minutes we get to set up shots. I was feeling her out in the first round. But I think the three minutes gave us more time to have fun in there, and that's what I was doing, I was having fun. I can break the knockout record in my next fight. I can get my 50th win and break Christy Martin's knockout record,” Serrano
