UFC Freedom 250 slow-motion recap captures White House spectacle
UFC released a slow-motion video recap of its Freedom 250 card Friday, capturing the spectacle of last weekend's historic White House event in cinematic detail.
The promotion's Washington D.C. takeover featured live music, pyrotechnics, a massive "Claw" suspended over the Octagon, and fighter walkouts from the Oval Office itself, all with the presidential residence as backdrop. Justin Gaethje stunned lightweight champion Ilia Topuria in the main event to claim undisputed gold in what MMA Mania described as a performance that "looked like something straight out of a movie."
UFC overcame lawsuits and backlash to stage event
The card moved forward despite pre-fight hurdles including unexpected lawsuits, weather concerns, and what the outlet called "overwhelming political backlash." While the event did not draw Super Bowl-level viewership, UFC officials managed to execute the unprecedented venue.
The slow-motion footage highlights Gaethje's title-winning effort along with six additional knockout finishes from the card. Fighter entrances from the Oval Office and the custom videography production give the recap an almost theatrical quality, capturing details that real-time broadcasts could not.
UFC has not announced when or if it might attempt another government venue event.
