Samantha Schmütz Set to Produce And Star In Mega MMA Film
Samantha Schmütz, an actress, singer, and comedian, has confirmed her plans for an MMA movie entitled, ‘Juninho Play.’
The movie is based upon her work, ‘Juninho Play’ which was turned into an animation series all the way back in 2015.
Schmütz’s desire for MMA is well known, as she began training in MMA after discovering that former MMA star Ricardo Arona was based near her in Niteroi.
As of now, Schmütz trains in jiu-jitsu with Fabio Trindade. This has been followed up by training sessions with Claudia Gadelha. As such, her passion for the sport is clear.
"I’ve made so many friends in the MMA world, like ‘Claudinha’ Gadelha, [Junior dos Santos] ‘Cigano,’ Anderson Silva, so it’s a universe of love. I think [MMA] is very rich, and there aren’t many fight films in Brazil.
"There aren’t many fight films with humor in general, but the fight world gives you a lot of options for humor. But at the same time, I want it to look beautiful too.
"Jiu-jitsu represents Brazil really well; it connects Brazil to the world, so I want it to be very serious and technical, but also add jokes with positions and whatnot. There’s a lot of room for that," Schmütz stated
This naturally begs the question: who would star in such a movie? Well, the personality made it clear that she was targeting jiu-jitsu specialists such as Gabi Garcia.
Meanwhile, the location of the movie has been touted as Las Vegas. And on top of that, the Rocky films have been a source of inspiration for her current project.
She added: "The story is a personal adventure for the greater good, to support his family. There are several lessons too. You can make a lot of analogies between the philosophy of life, training, and discipline. You can’t go from zero to a professional fighter [quickly], just like in real life. I have this project for such a long time and pieces are falling into place. I’m enjoying every step of the way," Schmütz
