Ryan Garcia vs. Conor Benn official for September 12 in Vegas
Ryan Garcia will face Conor Benn on Sept. 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, UFC CEO Dana White announced Wednesday.
The welterweight bout, which streams live on Paramount+ domestically and DAZN internationally, pairs Garcia's WBC title against Benn's 25-1 record in what MMA Fighting first reported as the most anticipated matchup in months. Garcia, 27, reclaimed relevance in February when he stopped Mario Barrios to claim the strap after a turbulent stretch that included a knockout loss to Gervonta Davis in 2023, a win over Devin Haney overturned to no-contest following a positive drug test, and a decision loss to Rolly Romero.
Benn brings two-fight Zuffa Boxing streak into Garcia showdown
Benn enters his second appearance under the Zuffa Boxing banner after signing a multi-fight deal with the promotion. The Brit avenged his lone career defeat with a rematch win over Chris Eubank in November, then outpointed Regis Prograis in April.
The September date marks Garcia's first defense of the WBC welterweight title and Benn's biggest test to date. T-Mobile Arena weigh-ins are expected the day before the fight.
