Quillan Salkilld vs. Mateusz Gamrot Headlines UFC Vegas 120

Quillan Salkilld will headline his first UFC card against former lightweight title challenger Mateusz Gamrot at UFC Vegas 120 on Aug. 8 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas.

The promotion announced the matchup Thursday, pitting the red-hot Australian prospect against a veteran gatekeeper at 155 pounds. Salkilld (12-1) has gone 5-0 since joining the UFC in February 2025, finishing four opponents in the first round and collecting four performance bonuses. His most recent win came in May when he stopped longtime contender Beneil Dariush with a knockout at UFC Perth, per MMA Fighting.

Salkilld's Rise Meets Gamrot's Experience

Gamrot (26-4) returned to form at UFC 327 in April, submitting Esteban Ribovics with a second-round arm-triangle choke. The Polish contender has alternated wins and losses over his past four fights, beating Ribovics and Ludovit Klein while dropping decisions to Charles Oliveira and Dan Hooker. His UFC record stands at 9-4 with victories over Arman Tsarukyan, Rafael dos Anjos, Rafael Fiziev, and Jalin Turner on his resume.

MMA Mania reports that Gamrot is ranked eighth at lightweight, while Salkilld sits at 13th after his Dariush knockout earned him a spot in the rankings. The 26-year-old Australian went viral in 2025 for a head-kick finish of Nasrat Haqparast and opened his UFC run by starching Anshul Jubli in 19 seconds. After calling for Gamrot following the Dariush win, Salkilld now gets his wish in his first five-round assignment.

Gamrot will compete in his fourth UFC main event as he tries to hold his top-10 spot and prove he remains a problem in the division's upper tier. Additional bouts for the Aug. 8 card have not been announced.
