Prochazka Warns Costa After UFC Offer Claim
Jiri Prochazka told Paulo Costa to keep his name out of social media posts unless the Brazilian plans to accept a fight offer between them.
The former heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight champion said the UFC has presented Costa with a matchup for October or November, according to Sherdog. Prochazka posted a video message on Instagram directing Costa to stay quiet if he has no intention of signing the contract.
Prochazka's Instagram Warning to Costa
"Don't tag me, don't mention me in your posts," Prochazka said in the clip. "Because you have a offer from UFC to fight me in October or November. And if you don't want to fight me, don't mention me, don't speak about me. I'm waiting for the contract for this fight."
Costa has criticized multiple heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight contenders while approaching the final bout on his current contract. The former middleweight title challenger mocked Prochazka for losing to Carlos Ulberg and blasted Magomed Ankalaev's performance at UFC Abu Dhabi.
Prochazka is looking to bounce back after dropping a decision to Ulberg earlier this year. Ulberg is expected out until 2027 with an injury, which has scrambled the division's title picture and opened the door for an interim belt discussion.
