“I've always said I want the biggest fights in women's boxing, and there isn't a bigger fight right now than me against Mikaela Mayer. We're both top-five pound-for-pound fighters, we're both world champions, and we're both coming to win.”

What Chantelle Cameron said

Cameron held all four belts at lightweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super-lightweight before moving up to welterweight. Mayer campaigns as a world champion and both fighters feature in the sport's pound-for-pound rankings. The bout would pit two elite-level world titleholders against each other in a rare women's unification.

What it moves

Cameron's challenge sets up a potential showdown if both sides can agree terms. Mayer has not publicly responded to the callout. A unification between two fighters ranked in the top five pound-for-pound would represent one of the highest-profile bouts in women's boxing this year.
