Floyd Mayweather vs Mike Zambidis exhibition lands on DAZN
Floyd Mayweather's June 27 exhibition against kickboxer Mike Zambidis has been picked up by DAZN, according to Bad Left Hook.
The bout takes place in Athens, giving the 46-year-old Zambidis home advantage for a contest that reportedly will not produce an official winner. Mayweather turned 49 in February and last fought professionally in 2017 when he stopped Conor McGregor. His most recent bout against an actual boxer came in September 2015 against Andre Berto.
Zambidis brings kickboxing credentials to Athens showcase
Zambidis holds a 157-24 kickboxing record but, like Mayweather, has not been an active competitor in over a decade. The exhibition marks another stop on Mayweather's tour of non-sanctioned bouts, which have drawn more attention for his financial troubles than the action inside the ring.
Mayweather reportedly has a professional rematch with Manny Pacquiao scheduled for September on Netflix. That fight was originally slated for The Sphere in Las Vegas on September 19 but the venue booked an Eagles residency instead. Recent reports suggest the Pacquiao bout may slide to September 25 or 26.
