PFL Sets Final Event Before MVP Rebrand

The Professional Fighters League announced a bantamweight title fight between Taylor Lapilus and undefeated Mitchell McKee for Dec. 12 at LDLC Arena in Lyon, France. The event marks the promotion's final card before its rebrand to Most Valuable Promotions takes effect Jan. 1, 2027.

Lapilus, a former UFC fighter, has won four straight since joining the PFL and will compete for the belt in front of his home crowd. "My whole career has led to this moment," he told Sherdog. "I'm here to become champion, leave my mark on this sport and cement my legacy."

McKee Unbeaten In PFL Debut Run

McKee entered the promotion earlier this year with a stoppage of Sergio Pettis at PFL Chicago. The 11-0 bantamweight said winning the title is why he signed with the organization.

"Fighting for a PFL world title is exactly why I came here," McKee said, per Sherdog. "I've believed from day one that I'm the best bantamweight in the PFL and in December I get the opportunity to prove it."

The Lyon card closes out the PFL era ahead of the Most Valuable Promotions merger, which unites the league with Jake Paul's promotional outfit. Weigh-ins are scheduled for Dec. 11.
