Paddy Pimblett tells Arman Tsarukyan to quit wrestling: 'You're not a fighter no more'

Paddy Pimblett says Arman Tsarukyan should stop competing in wrestling matches and return to actual UFC fights.

Tsarukyan holds the No. 2 spot at lightweight but has not fought in the octagon since stopping Dan Hooker in November 2025, according to MMA Mania. He was set to challenge for the belt at UFC 311 in January 2025 before withdrawing due to a back injury worsened by his weight cut. Since that pullout, the promotion has reportedly kept its distance from Tsarukyan, who has racked up an 8-0-1 record in grappling and wrestling bouts while building his social media following.

Pimblett questions Tsarukyan's lightweight credentials

Pimblett told Paramount+ that while Tsarukyan may deserve a title shot on paper, his lack of cage time disqualifies him. "Arman probably is the rightful number one contender, but he doesn't fight," Pimblett said, per the outlet. "He's fought once in three years and beat a bum that they call Dan Hooker. He's too busy doing wrestling matches, you know what I mean? So go and wrestle them, mate. You're not a fighter no more."

At UFC 329 media day, the Liverpool fighter expanded on his criticism. "He needs to actually fight. Not go around in a singlet tickling people," Pimblett said. "Get in the octagon and actually fight. Stop going around on your private jet, eating food."

Pimblett faces Benoit Saint Denis at UFC 329 on Saturday and has said a win will not be enough for another title shot. He expects to compete again before challenging for the belt, with Conor McGregor and Ilia Topuria both floated as potential opponents.
