Pacquiao Receives Honorary Doctorate From Philippine Normal University

Manny Pacquiao has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Physical Education and Sports degree by the Philippine Normal University, the school's first such honor, recognizing his achievements in sports and contributions to the Philippines.

"For me, this honorary doctorate is not simply a recognition of what I have achieved. It is a reminder that every blessing comes with a responsibility to give back, to serve, and to help others rise," Pacquiao

Pacquiao, 47, drew a parallel between boxing and life, noting the importance of getting back up after being knocked down. The honor comes shortly after his appointment as Secretary and Lead Convenor of the National Anti-Poverty Commission by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., adding to a political résumé that includes past service in both the Philippine House of Representatives and Senate, along with a 2022 presidential run.
