Nurmagomedov Addresses Post-Fight Collision With Yadong

Usman Nurmagomedov has denied trying to strike Song Yadong during their post-fight collision at UFC Shanghai, saying he was simply rushing to check on his brother Umar after Song's knockout win.

"People are making such a huge tragedy out of this, they should just calm down. There are things far worse. You don't have to think for long, just look at what is happening in the world. And regarding the claims that I supposedly wanted to hit his opponent, if I had wanted to, I would have hit him," Nurmagomedov

Song caught Umar with a well-timed uppercut to end the fight, then collided with Usman as he ran around the cage celebrating, sparking speculation online that Usman had thrown an elbow in the moment.

"You angry, petty, and jealous people. Your problem is that you have never had, and never will never have, an understanding of family love. If you don't know what a brother means to his brother, then I'm not the one you should feel sorry for, you should feel sorry for yourselves," Nurmagomedov

Song later approached Umar's corner to pay his respects to coach Khabib Nurmagomedov following the win. Umar has since released his own statement confirming he's doing fine after suffering just the second loss of his career.
