Ngannou Fires Back At White After 'Bad Guy' Remark

Francis Ngannou fired back at Dana White after the UFC CEO reignited their long-running feud with fresh personal attacks this week.

White recently described Ngannou as a bad person and said he refuses to work with such individuals, according to MMA Fighting. The former heavyweight champion, who parted ways with the UFC in 2023 after his contract expired, took to social media Friday with a pointed response.

Ngannou Refutes White's Version Of UFC Exit

In his post, Ngannou called out what he sees as hypocrisy in White's characterization of their split. He wrote that White spent years and considerable legal resources trying to prevent him from leaving while simultaneously painting himself as the wronged party. "You have to take that loss; it is irreversible," Ngannou posted, per MMA Fighting.

White previously claimed the UFC offered Ngannou a record heavyweight contract that would have exceeded what Brock Lesnar earned. The promotion chief said the deal would have made Ngannou the highest-paid heavyweight in company history but that the fighter turned it down.

Since leaving the UFC, Ngannou signed with the PFL but first competed in boxing, where he nearly upset Tyson Fury in his debut before suffering a knockout loss to Anthony Joshua in 2024. He returned to MMA last year, stopping Renan Ferreira in his PFL debut and knocking out Philipe Lins at the MVP card in May.
