MVP Fires Back At Hardy's $10M Lawsuit

Most Valuable Promotions has responded to a $10 million lawsuit filed by former world champion Heather Hardy over her August 2023 rematch with Amanda Serrano.

Hardy alleges she suffered permanent neurological damage from the bout, which took place on the Jake Paul-Nate Diaz card. According to her complaint, the fight presented an "extraordinary and foreseeable risk of serious neurological harm" and contributed to traumatic brain injury, memory loss, and double vision.

MVP Cites Medical Clearance and Commission Oversight

The promotion disputed the allegations in a statement reported by ESPN and Sherdog, emphasizing Hardy received proper medical clearance. "MVP has great respect for Heather Hardy," the statement read. "Heather's participation on our Aug. 5, 2023, card was arranged through her promoter, Lou DiBella, who contracted for the fight, and Heather publicly expressed her gratitude for the opportunity both before and after the fight."

MVP added that Hardy was medically cleared to compete by the athletic commission overseeing the event and that the bout proceeded under the commission's authority and supervision. The promotion said it followed all applicable protocols and remains committed to fighter safety in full compliance with commission standards.

The lawsuit names MVP as the primary defendant. No court date has been set.
