Morales Destroys Lacerda In 63-Second Finish
Former UFC bantamweight Vince Morales needed just 63 seconds to finish Daniel Lacerda in the Tuff-N-Uff 158 main event Saturday night at Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas.
Morales pressed forward from the opening bell while Lacerda threw a series of kicks. After briefly wobbling the Brazilian along the fence with a combination, Morales caught him rushing in with a stiff jab that dropped him to the canvas, per MMA Mania. Morales immediately jumped on top and unloaded ground-and-pound until the referee waved it off.
What The Win Means For Morales
The victory snapped a four-fight losing streak for Morales that included decision setbacks to Colby Thicknesse, Raul Rosas Jr., and Taylor Lapilus during his second UFC run. The 35-year-old compiled a 3-9 record across two separate stints with the promotion, making a third Octagon appearance unlikely no matter how many regional opponents he stops.
Morales now moves to 17-11 overall. Potential landing spots include PFL, Scott Coker's new Ki MMA promotion, or BKFC if he wants to transition to bare-knuckle boxing.
For Lacerda, the loss snapped a two-fight MMA win streak and marked his second knockout defeat in five weeks. He was stopped by Andre Ewell at Karate Combat exactly one month earlier, raising questions about the quick turnaround. Lacerda drops to 13-8 and will need time away before competing again.
