Montague Puts Unbeaten Record On Line Against Cavalcanti
Undefeated bantamweight Michelle Montague will risk her perfect record against Jacqueline Cavalcanti at UFC Qatar on Nov. 21.
The promotion confirmed the matchup for ABHA Arena in Doha, per Sherdog and Ag Fight.
Cavalcanti arrives on a skid after rattling off five straight UFC wins to open her run with the organization. The Brazilian dropped a decision to Ketlen Vieira in May, snapping a streak that included victories over Nora Cornolle, Julia Avila and former title challenger Mayra Bueno Silva.
Montague's Grappling Threat at UFC Qatar
Montague turned pro in 2022 and submitted her first six opponents by rear-naked choke before the UFC came calling. The New Zealander, a former Professional Fighters League competitor, has since notched decision wins over Luana Carolina and Bueno Silva to push her record to 8-0.
The bout marks the only women's fight currently slated for the UFC Qatar card. Montague-Cavalcanti headlines the bantamweight action in Doha with both fighters looking to climb the division ladder.
