Michael Chandler balloons to 195 pounds two weeks after UFC loss
Michael Chandler weighed 195.6 pounds in a social media video posted two weeks after his lightweight bout at UFC's White House event, marking a 40-pound gain from his official weigh-in.
Chandler, who tipped the scale at 155.6 pounds before facing Mauricio Ruffy earlier this month, recorded himself stepping on the same scale in an Instagram post that drew sharp reactions from fans. "We are two weeks post fight," he said in the clip, per MMA Mania. "This is exactly what I weighed in at, except it was 40 pounds less. I weighed 155.6 pounds, now I'm 195.6 pounds. Let's go! See you at the top!"
Chandler's post-fight weight swing draws criticism
The video showed Chandler standing on a digital scale that displayed the heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight threshold figure. Comments on the post skewed negative, with multiple users telling the former Bellator champion to expect to "see you at the bottom" instead.
Chandler lost to Ruffy in the Freedom 250 main event and has vowed to continue fighting despite the setback. The 40-pound fluctuation represents one of the more extreme post-fight weight rebounds documented by a UFC lightweight in recent memory.
No timeline has been announced for Chandler's return to the cage or whether he plans to drop back to 155 pounds.
