Miami-Dade Deputy Luis Hernandez Earns UFC Contract

Luis Hernandez, a Miami-Dade sheriff's deputy, submitted France's Hugo Guillon via rear-naked choke at 1:01 of round two during Dana White's Contender Series 92, earning a UFC contract.

Hernandez worked the body early before Guillon dropped him with a punch and attempted a submission of his own. Hernandez escaped, took the back, and locked in the finish. A large group of fellow officers cheered him on from the crowd as he celebrated with a dance paying homage to WWE's D-Generation X.

Hernandez previously drew attention for an incident involving Sean Strickland at a 2025 regional event, where Strickland entered the cage and punched Hernandez after he taunted an opponent's corner post-fight. Strickland was later fined $5,000 and suspended six months by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Also on the card, Tyshawn Williams defeated Antonio Monteiro by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-27, 29-27), earning an invite back for a future Contender Series appearance rather than an immediate contract.
