Gable Steveson thinks a UFC comeback for Jon Jones is possible now that Tom Aspinall has vacated the heavyweight title due to ongoing eye issues.
"I think Jon would like to come back, also. Maybe seeing this belt open up put another fire into him. Jones retired and relinquished the title in June 2025 rather than defend it against Aspinall, who went on to suffer an eye injury against Ciryl Gane in his first defense, a fight ruled a no contest. With Aspinall now stepping away again after a training setback, Gane is expected to be positioned for the vacant title — a scenario some believe could draw Jones back, given his quick finish of Gane in 2023. Steveson faces Sean Sharaf this Saturday at UFC 331.
