Gerald Meerschaert will make his heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight debut against Julius Walker at the UFC Fight Night card on Oct. 10, according to multiple sources who spoke to MMA Fighting.

The 38-year-old veteran moves up a weight class after dropping five consecutive bouts at middleweight. His most recent loss came via unanimous decision to Jacob Malkoun at UFC Perth in May, where he missed weight by four pounds. Meerschaert has not won since submitting Edmen Shahbazyan in the second round nearly two years ago.

Walker Returns After Eight-Second Knockout Loss

Walker enters the matchup on a two-fight skid of his own. The heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight has been stopped in both of his 2026 appearances, including an eight-second knockout defeat against Abdul Rakhman Yakhyaev at UFC Baku in June.

The bout is expected to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Meerschaert owns a 59-fight professional record across his career, while Walker will be making his fifth octagon appearance.
