Uros Medic needed just 30 seconds to flatten Daniel Rodriguez in the UFC Belgrade main event Saturday, then wasted no time naming his next target.

The Serbian welterweight, fighting in front of his home crowd at Belgrade Arena, dropped Rodriguez with a lightning finish before calling for a fight with former champion Leon Edwards. MMA Fighting reported the knockout came as the fastest main event finish in UFC on ESPN history, capping a card that set a promotion record for total stoppages.

What's Next For Medic After Belgrade Breakout

Medic's performance vaulted him into contention at 170 pounds, where Edwards has been looking to rebuild momentum after losing the title. Navajo Stirling also impressed with a first-round knockout of former heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz, while Aleksandar Rakic won his heavyweight debut against Marcin Tybura.

Robert Valentin, Gilbert Urbina, and Noah Gugnon all scored main card finishes on the Serbia card. The event's finish rate eclipsed previous UFC records, with every fight ending inside the distance through the first nine bouts.

Medic weighed 170 pounds for his next camp and said he expects a ranked opponent when the UFC returns to Europe in the fall.
