McGregor kept using steroids after leg healed, report claims
Conor McGregor continued using performance-enhancing drugs after his broken leg healed because he enjoyed the physical effects, according to a New York Times report published this week.
The report, which follows an earlier Times investigation into the former champion's steroid use, alleges that McGregor's recent physique gains came from anabolic steroids and human growth hormone, not the Irish produce he referenced in social media posts. The 37-year-old makes his return against Max Holloway at UFC 329 on Saturday night in Las Vegas, his first fight since serving a suspension for whereabouts violations.
Manager dismisses report as hit job before UFC 329
McGregor's manager Audie Attar rejected the allegations in comments to Ariel Helwani. "I think it's a guy trying to make something out of nothing," Attar said, per MMA Mania. "We followed all the testing procedures, and Conor's been tested about 15 times this year."
Attar suggested the timing pointed to coordinated attacks on either his client or the UFC itself. The report arrives days before McGregor headlines the promotion's White House event weekend card at T-Mobile Arena, years after his contentious exit from the USADA testing pool in 2023.
McGregor has been drug-tested 15 times in 2026, according to Attar. The fighter weighed 190 pounds at Thursday's ceremonial weigh-ins for his featherweight bout with Holloway.
