Conor McGregor continues to provide updates from his recovery, five days on from surgery to repair the torn ACL and meniscus he suffered in the opening seconds of his UFC 329 return against Max Holloway on July 11th.

McGregor went under the knife on August 3rd. Two days later he confirmed the surgery "went excellent." He has since pointed to Dominick Cruz and Georges St-Pierre — two of the UFC's most decorated champions — as examples of fighters who returned from ACL injuries to continue successful careers at the highest level.

His most recent update showed footage of his bandaged knee. McGregor slapped his thigh, flexed the muscles in his right leg and looked into the camera: "Day five, post-surgery," McGregor

One fight remains on his UFC contract. McGregor has stated his intention to compete one final time during International Fight Week in 2027 — and has made clear that he wants that fight to be a third bout with Holloway. The injury that ended UFC 329 before it had barely begun is, in McGregor's mind, unfinished business rather than a full stop.
