Mayweather vs. Zambidis exhibition canceled per court filing

Floyd Mayweather's exhibition against Mike Zambidis in Greece this Saturday will not happen.

ESPN reports that federal court documents filed Thursday show the bout has been called off. The exhibition was set to take place in Greece and would have marked another in a series of international appearances for the retired welterweight great.

Why the Mayweather-Zambidis fight was canceled

Court filings reportedly indicate the cancellation stems from legal proceedings, though specific details on the cause of the stoppage were not disclosed in the initial documents. Mayweather has participated in multiple exhibition matches since his 2017 retirement from professional boxing, including stops in Japan, Dubai, and other international venues.

No replacement date has been announced for the Greece event. Zambidis, a veteran kickboxer known for his aggressive style, was expected to face Mayweather under boxing rules in what would have been a crossover showcase.
