UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev called out Jon Jones for what he sees as a pattern of rule-breaking without consequences.
The exchange started after Jones defended his legacy against Daniel Cormier, who has repeatedly questioned Jones's GOAT credentials due to multiple failed drug tests. Jones recently posted on social media mocking Cormier's comments and encouraged Makhachev to keep winning, per BJPenn.com.

Makhachev Questions Jones's Accountability
Makhachev responded with a pointed message. "Jon, I'm not trying to diminish your achievements in any way," he wrote on X. "But your whole life seems to be tied to breaking the rules one way or another, and somehow, you're never the one to be blamed."
Jones has previously dismissed Makhachev's case for pound-for-pound supremacy, pointing to the lightweight champion's knockout loss earlier in his UFC run. Makhachev recently broke Anderson Silva's UFC win streak record with his victory over Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330.

Cormier, Jones's two-time rival, continues to place his former teammate Khabib Nurmagomedov atop the all-time rankings rather than Jones. The pair's scheduled rematch at UFC 200 collapsed after Jones failed a pre-fight drug test.
Jones had not responded to Makhachev's latest comments as of Tuesday. He is expected to corner Gable Steveson at UFC 331 this weekend.
