Makhachev, Garry Hit Mark For UFC 330 Title Fight

Islam Makhachev and Ian Machado Garry both weighed 170 pounds at Friday's official weigh-ins in Philadelphia, clearing the final hurdle before their welterweight title fight at UFC 330.

The champion and challenger stepped on the scale at 9 a.m. ET at the promotion's host hotel, as MMA Fighting reported. Makhachev, ranked No. 1 pound-for-pound by MMA Fighting, defends the 170-pound belt for the first time after a record four consecutive lightweight title defenses. Garry brings a 10-1 UFC record into the bout.

Robertson Makes Weight For Strawweight Title Shot

In the co-main event, strawweight champion Mackenzie Dern and challenger Gillian Robertson both hit 115 pounds for their title fight. Dern claimed the vacant belt with a decision over Virna Jandiroba at UFC 321. Robertson can become the first Canadian woman to win UFC gold with a victory, according to MMA Mania.

UFC analyst Dominick Cruz predicted a potential upset, telling MMA Junkie he sees Garry winning a split decision. "Ian Garry is good at making people fight his style of fight," Cruz said. "The more he can stop the first three takedowns of every round and keep the distance where Ian Garry is comfortable, the further away he can get ahead on the scorecards."

Two fighters missed weight on the 12-fight card. Charles Johnson came in at 129.5 pounds for a catchweight bout against Eduardo Henrique. Main event backup Michael Morales weighed 170 pounds.

The ceremonial weigh-ins take place at 6 p.m. ET at Xfinity Mobile Arena, with the main card streaming on Paramount Plus at 9 p.m. ET Saturday.
