Liam Smith Charged With GBH Following Alleged Manchester Attack
Liam Smith, 38, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent following an alleged attack on a night concierge at a Manchester apartment building.
Police say the concierge suffered serious facial injuries, including fractures requiring surgery, in the incident at The Blade on Silvercroft Street on September 13. Smith was released on bail after appearing at Manchester Magistrates Court and is due at Manchester Crown Court on October 19 to enter a plea. He has not been convicted, and no response from him has been reported.
The charge adds to a difficult stretch for Smith's comeback. He lost a wide decision to Aaron McKenna in April 2025, and a planned return against Ilaru Kujala in September fell through due to a calf injury. His 2023 stoppage win over Chris Eubank Jr. remains a career highlight, though Eubank reversed that result in their rematch months later.
