Lebosnoyani Calls Out Matthews After UFC Vegas 123 Win
Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani has his eyes on Jake Matthews following a doctor stoppage win over Farman Hasanov in the third round of their UFC Vegas 123 bout Saturday night.
Speaking in his cage interview, Lebosnoyani named the Australian veteran as his ideal next step despite Matthews already being locked into another fight. The callout came after the ringside physician halted his clash with Hasanov two minutes and eleven seconds into round three. According to Sherdog, Lebosnoyani said Matthews should "finish your fight, and let's dance, baby."
Matthews Faces Abdullayev Before Potential Lebosnoyani Clash
The win extends Lebosnoyani's UFC run to three straight, following earlier decision victories against Seok Hyeon Ko and Philip Rowe. He now sits at 12-2 overall and appears ready to climb the welterweight ladder against a fighter carrying more octagon tenure.
Matthews holds a 23-8 record and most recently beat Carlston Harris by unanimous verdict in May. The 32-year-old Australian is booked to meet Tahir Abdullayev on November 21 in Doha at UFC Fight Night 294.
Lebosnoyani will wait to see if Matthews emerges from Qatar with another win before the two can potentially square off in 2027.
