Kavanagh: McGregor Still Wants To Fight

Conor McGregor remains focused on a 2027 comeback, according to his longtime coach John Kavanagh.

McGregor’s UFC 329 return ended when he hurt his right leg after missing a spinning wheel kick in the opening seconds and lost to Max Holloway. He immediately teased a 2027 return, likely a trilogy fight with Holloway. Kavanagh says McGregor could be back next year.

“He says he does [want to fight again]. It’ll be next year before he can return to MMA-type training; he’s been very aggressive with his therapy and his recovery, and then we’ll see where he is next year. I just don’t feel like he’s done with competition just yet. What does that look like? I don’t know. It’s hard for me to visualize that being it. Can he make another comeback and get back into that fight shape? If anybody can, he can. He’ll do what it takes to get there, and he’ll do it again,” Kavanagh
