Joshua Vs. Wallin Fight Predictions

Anthony Joshua faces a critical moment in his career as he takes on Otto Wallin on ‘The Day of Reckoning’ card in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua headlines the event in a fight where much is expected of him. His ambitions of becoming a three-time world champion are on the line. Wallin is no easy opponent; his only defeat was against Tyson Fury. In that fight, the Swede pushed the Gypsy King until the final bell. He cut the WBC champion above the eye as blood continued to gush forth. On another day, the fight could have been stopped with Wallin as the winner. Since that loss, Wallin has won six fights in a row.

But for Joshua, there is the Deontay Wilder fight on the line. Reports have confirmed that a two-fight deal has been agreed. The first will take place on March 9, 2024. But since the Wallin fight has a rematch clause, Joshua cannot afford to come up short. He is the favorite, but his recent performances and now change of trainer with Ben Davidson, has left some unanswered questions. That said, here is what boxing experts thought about the outcome.

Joshua-Wallin Predictions

"Anthony Joshua to win. Now I don’t know if he’s going to knock him out or win on points but I thoroughly expect Anthony Joshua to win that fight. There’s so much on the line. If he loses it’s game over for AJ," Carl Froch

"Wallin is going to come in and try and be cautious. He’s going to try and box and keep it long, pick the shots and might even after a few rounds be thinking about a points win. I think Joshua will catch him at some point. I think Joshua stops him," George Groves

"This is massive. Wallin is a very good fighter, he gave Fury a bit of a scare, and one of the reasons why you know he’s a tough fight is because none of the other heavyweights want to mention him. It’s probably a fight that Joshua thinks he should be winning if he wants to be able to compete with people like Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury or Usyk again at some point. Although it’s far from an easy fight, it’s still a fight that AJ should win if he wants to be competing with the very, very top guys," Carl Frampton

"Well, Joshua got the range. It appears to me that when people don’t pressure him, he gets his shots off, when he wins. I don’t think he stands pressure real well. But if it’s a distance fight and they keep their measurements, he’s going to outpoint him," Evander Hoylfied

"I believe that Otto versus Joshua is the perfect fight for both. It’s a very interesting fight. Joshua is obviously one of the elite guys in the division. Does he still have what is necessary to compete at an elite level? Otto wants to be heavyweight champ and showed he is world class in his fight versus Tyson and subsequent quality wins after that. I picked my guy Otto to win by unanimous decision," Dmitry Salita
