Joshua Must KO Wilder To Get Fury's Attention – Says Simon Jordan

In some heavyweight boxing news, Anthony Joshua is out of the picture when it comes to the biggest fights in heavyweight boxing following Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s fight for undisputed.
That is according to Simon Jordan. The two boxers agreed a deal to secure the biggest fight in boxing, leaving Joshua in the dark after he had unified the titles for so long.
The actual fight date has yet to be agreed, but unlike Joshua, Fury does have a world title. Joshua’s standing in the division, therefore, has fallen.
This was most notably seen through the breakdown in the Deontay Wilder fight being made. The fight was expected to have been held in Saudi Arabia after Eddie Hearn confirmed that terms had been verbally agreed.
Although that may have been the case, the fight for Saudi broke down. Skills Challenge were not able to deliver on the fight, as the leading voice in Saudi boxing became the General Entertainment Authority.
They were instrumental in getting the Fury fight with Francis Ngannou over the line as Frank Warren took a lead step as the favored promoter in Saudi boxing.
That has had the impact of no longer making Joshua the A-side. As a result, Talksport’s Simon Jordan felt that Joshua’s only chance of redemption would be to knock Wilder out.
Jordan On Joshua
"Anthony Joshua gets left in a vacuum because I’m pretty sure there is this ambition from Joshua to fight Fury. And if Fury were to win this fight, which I think he will, I think there’s a distinct possibility that Fury will go, ‘That’s it, I’m done.’
"He [could go], ‘I’ve beaten Wilder, I’ve beaten Usyk who beat Joshua, I’ve beaten the man who beat the man, so what have I got to do besides throw you a bone?’
"And that puts a challenge on Anthony Joshua and the only way I think Anthony Joshua corrects that is if he fights Deontay Wilder and knocks him out very convincingly, very early in the fight. If he does something Fury couldn’t do, then it becomes a legacy discussion," Jordan said
Nevertheless, the chances of that happening are slim. Joshua has only stopped three opponents in his last eight fights. That is far from the destructive puncher that Joshua was known for in his earlier days.
Meanwhile, by trying to stop Wilder, Joshua may play into the American’s hands who is always looking to unleash his right hand. But if Joshua wanted the Fury fight, Jordan felt he had to show more to gain the attention of the Gypsy King.
Fury Vs. Joshua
"I don’t think Fury is gonna give Joshua any leg-up, any opportunity, unless there’s a really, really good reason. Right now, beating Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius, and just being on the periphery of it all now, is not a reason for Fury to go, ‘I’ll tell you what – I’ll bring you into the light again," Jordan
