John Fury Had No Problems With KSI Being The Winner, Danis Denies Trying To Choke Paul

In the latest boxing news, John Fury has controversially claimed that a KSI win over Tommy Fury would not have ruffled his feathers at all.

The two faced off on October 14th, 2023, in a bout that offered very little by way of attacking intent. Both boxers struggled to land anything significant, which was shown by the constant clenching as well as Fury being docked a point for rabbit punching in the second round.

However, after the bout, the decision raised many talking points. Fury was given the win via a majority decision, 57-56, 57-57 and 57-56, with KSI calling it a ‘robbery.’

And yet, it turned out that the win should have been wider for Fury after Judge Rafael Ramos had it 57-57 when the total should have been 57-56. But for all of the controversy that came, Fury had no qualms if the win was given to KSI.

Fury On KSI-Fury

"It’s hard to replicate for sparring, but we knew what he was going to do and I didn’t expect the referee to let him get away with as much holding. He was holding him constantly and he couldn’t get his arms out, he was smothering his work, it was horrible to watch. Listen, like I said to mark the end of it, if he had gotten the decision, there’d have been no qualms from me. They both had a go and that’s what it is," John Fury said

Nevertheless, Fury being branded a novice does not read well in light of his background. After having had 10 fights, as well as sparring with the WBC heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury, there has to come a time when Tommy Fury either dedicates himself to crossover fighting or boxing for a world title. But as of now, both avenues appear to have their own stumbling blocks.

Markowski On KSI-Fury

Much in the same way, Joe Markowski (the CEO for DAZN) has called the decision a robbery. That echoed KSI’s post-fight comments as the boxer made it clear that Fury was not landing anything significant.

So much so that Markowski has now called for an appeal of the decision and an immediate rematch. Despite this being the case, Fury has indicated that he has no intention of having more crossover fights at this point. And yet, Markowski made his feelings on the issue very clear.

"Stand by this. @KSI was robbed. Appeal and rematch please @MamsTaylor," Markowski stated

In addition, Dillon Danis has denied trying to guillotine choke Logan Paul. Danis faced off against Paul on his boxing debut on October 14th, 2023.

In a fight where there was very little action, Paul appeared to press the action with Danis reluctant to throw. That was summed up by the MMA fighter throwing around 16 punches. And that all came to a head during the latter part of the fight.

Danis appeared to attempt a takedown and then a guillotine choke, both of which proved unsuccessful. And now that the dust has settled down somewhat, Danis clarified the circumstances of what went down.

Danis Denies Choking Paul

"I wasn’t actually trying to, but he was smart — he vasolined his head up, so I guess he knew I was trying to go for his neck. But at that moment, I actually wasn’t. I was just grabbing his head and he just kind of shrugged me, and the vasoline [slipped me off], and then he threw that punch [on the ground] and then I upkicked him," Danis said

In response, Danis is keen to run things back. The MMA fighter recalled Paul agreeing to fight him in MMA if Danis ended up going through with the boxing bout.

And now that he has done so, Danis expects Paul to honor the agreement. And if that were the case, Danis only sees one winner.

Outside of that, the MMA fighter has urged Dana White to sign him after showing that he was capable of selling fights. And with a social media following of around a million on X, Danis certainly has the fanbase.

"He shook my hand. If he’s a real man, he should,” Danis said. “He didn’t defend his fiancee, in my opinion. If a man talks the way I did about your fiancee, you should knock me out…I want to go the UFC. I think the UFC now will see my potential in selling fights and everything like that,” Danis revealed
