Gordon Pummels Internet Troll In Sparring Session

UFC lightweight Jared Gordon recently gave an internet troll exactly what he asked for during a sparring session that went viral on social media.

Gordon, who has competed in the octagon since 2017, agreed to spar with an online critic who reportedly challenged him to a session. Video footage shows the Queens native landing strikes on his overmatched opponent, including a slowed-down head kick that still caught the amateur off guard.

According to MMA Mania, Gordon captioned the footage by saying he was "not trying to catch a lawsuit," apparently referencing his decision to pull back on his power during the exchange. The outlet noted that Gordon threw the head kick at roughly one-quarter speed and it still came as a complete shock to his sparring partner.

The viral clip shows Gordon controlling the pace throughout while his opponent, who appeared aware of the skill gap, gamely continued. MMA Mania writer Andrew Richardson, a professional fighter at Team Alpha Male, credited the challenger for understanding what he was walking into.

Gordon has not publicly commented on whether he plans to spar with other online critics. The lightweight veteran is currently awaiting his next UFC booking after his most recent octagon appearance.
