Itauma And Hrgovic Nearly Come To Blows
Moses Itauma and Filip Hrgovic almost turned their ceremonial weigh-in into a fight of its own Friday, with Itauma shoving Hrgovic during a heated face-off ahead of their IBF heavyweight title clash this weekend at The O2 Arena.
Neither fighter was hurt in the scuffle, and the bout remains on for Saturday. Itauma enters off a knockout of Jermaine Franklin in March, retaining his WBA and WBO titles.
Hrgovic, an Olympic bronze medalist, presents what's shaping up as his toughest test yet, riding a three-fight win streak since a 2024 loss to Daniel Dubois — most recently stopping David Allen in May to claim the WBA continental and IBF intercontinental titles.
A win for Itauma could open the door to a future fight with Oleksandr Usyk, while Hrgovic is looking to spoil the hype around boxing's rising heavyweight star.
