Garry Calls Out Morales After Avoiding Claims

Ian Garry and Michael Morales have verbally agreed to meet in the cage.

Garry, who lost a decision to Islam Makhachev at UFC 330 in his first title shot, took issue with Morales' availability after being told the undefeated welterweight was not ready to fight. The Irishman shared direct messages on social media in which he questioned Morales' willingness to accept the matchup, per Sherdog. Garry pointed out that Morales had served as a backup for a title fight and was angling for another backup role, yet claimed he could not take a fight with him before year's end.

Morales Accepts Garry's Saudi Arabia Challenge

Morales dismissed the accusation in the exchange. "My son, what are you talking about? I fight whenever you want I just want a contract and that's it I'll kick your *ss," he wrote, according to screenshots posted by both fighters.

Garry proposed Nov. 28 in Saudi Arabia. Morales accepted on the spot. The UFC has not confirmed the booking, but the matchup would function as a title eliminator with Carlos Prates expected to challenge Makhachev next.
