Filip Hrgovic knew everyone expected him to lose to Moses Itauma on Saturday night at The O2 Arena in London. He stopped the top prospect anyway to claim the IBF heavyweight title.
The Croatian told Eze in a backstage interview he took notice of the near-universal predictions against him heading into fight week. Asked if he felt disrespected by the lack of support, he was direct: "Man, it was all disrespectful, this whole week. Against all odds. I don't know what to say. I make them wrong. Everyone."

How Hrgovic Turned the Fight Against Itauma
As Bad Left Hook reports, Itauma controlled much of the action through the early rounds. But Hrgovic stuck to his plan. He absorbed the shots, stayed patient, and capitalised when the opening came. The finish was conclusive.
Hrgovic acknowledged the challenge beforehand, per the same interview. He called Itauma a tough opponent and said he knew the task in front of him. But he also made clear he believed in his approach — eat the shots, stay close, wait for the opening.
