Hearn On Joshua's Vulnerability Ahead Of Fury Fight
Anthony Joshua enters his June showdown with Tyson Fury as a more vulnerable fighter than in his prime, but one who punches harder than ever, according to Matchroom president Barry Hearn.
Hearn, speaking to ESPN, said the two-time heavyweight champion has evolved into a more relaxed version of himself heading into the all-British clash at Principality Stadium. That composure, he suggested, could prove decisive when the former champions meet in Cardiff.
Joshua's Power vs. Fury's Savvy
The Matchroom boss described Joshua as "chilled" and predicted the fight would be "his day," per the ESPN report. The comment came as Hearn weighed Joshua's current form against the defensive craft Fury brings to the ring.
Joshua, 35, has won four straight since back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022. Fury, meanwhile, is coming off a split-decision defeat to Usyk in their undisputed title rematch last December.
The bout is scheduled for June 21 in Wales, with both fighters chasing a path back to the top of the division.
