Hearn On Fury-Joshua: Decision Needed This Week

Promoter Eddie Hearn says organizers of the Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua fight have until the end of this week to accept revised terms for a New York venue or the November 20 date slips away.

The Matchroom boss told ESPN that Joshua's team has submitted new financial demands after organizers moved the bout from the UK to New York City without their consent. "There is nothing agreed right now. Will need to make a decision this week. They have replied. They have our terms," Hearn said. "We're speaking multiple times a day but we're running out of time if you want to do the fight on Nov. 20. They're talking about a press conference next week. It's Tuesday. The ball is in their court."

Why Joshua's Team Wants Fresh Deal for New York Fight

Fury and Joshua reportedly signed contracts for a UK stadium bout, but the Saudi-backed organizers shifted course and targeted Madison Square Garden instead. Bad Left Hook reports that Team Joshua balked at the switch and demanded new terms to reflect the change in location and market.

Hearn said he still hopes the backers reverse course and stage the fight at Wembley Stadium, though he conceded that outcome looks unlikely. Organizers have floated a press conference for next week, but Hearn made clear no announcement can happen until Joshua's revised contract is signed.

The November 20 date gives both camps roughly 11 weeks to finalize promotion and ticket sales. If the parties miss this week's deadline, the fight could slide to 2027.
