Fury manager denies Zuffa Boxing contract after UFC appearance
Tyson Fury's manager Spencer Brown has dismissed reports linking the former heavyweight champion to Zuffa Boxing after Fury's appearance at UFC Freedom 250 last weekend sparked industry speculation.
"I can categorically tell you that there's no contract with Zuffa with Tyson Fury," Brown told combat sports reporter Gareth A. Davies, per ESPN. Brown confirmed that Saudi Arabia's Turki Alalshikh secured Fury's return to the United States and will serve as his promoter for the remainder of his career.
Joshua fight headed to Netflix in November
The Joshua-Fury bout is expected to land on Netflix, likely in the UK in November, though location talks remain fluid. Anthony Joshua faces Kristian Prenga on July 25 while Fury plans a tune-up against an opponent yet to be named before the two heavyweights finally meet.
Fury had not set foot in the US for five and a half years due to reported connections to alleged crime boss Daniel Kinahan. His weekend appearance alongside UFC CEO Dana White and President Donald Trump at the White House triggered immediate chatter that White might broker the Joshua fight through his new boxing venture.
Brown acknowledged that final site and promotion decisions rest with Alalshikh and Netflix. "Is Dana White involved? I don't know. You'll have to ask Turki," he said. "We know what's written in our contract and Eddie knows what's written in his contract. If it's not that, the only way it can happen is if we redo a contract."
Matchroom's Eddie Hearn previously denied any Zuffa involvement in the Joshua side of negotiations. White hinted Sunday that a fight announcement was imminent but offered no details.
