Fury Calls Out Usyk After Joshua Fight Falls Through

Tyson Fury says his heavyweight clash with Anthony Joshua will not materialise and has thrown down the gauntlet to Oleksandr Usyk for a third meeting in November.

The former WBC champion told fans the Joshua matchup is no longer in the works, per ESPN, pivoting instead to pursue another chapter in his rivalry with the unified champion. Fury dropped back-to-back decisions to Usyk in May 2024 and December 2024, losing the undisputed title in their first encounter before falling short again in Saudi Arabia.

What a Fury-Usyk Trilogy Could Mean for Heavyweight Division

A November date would give Fury roughly ten months to rebuild momentum after the second Usyk loss. The Ukrainian holds wins in both prior meetings — a split decision followed by a unanimous nod — and currently campaigns as the division's top name. Joshua, meanwhile, fought Daniel Dubois in September 2024 and has been linked to multiple opponents since.

No venue or promotional backing has been confirmed for the proposed trilogy. Fury closed by saying he wants the fight sorted quickly if Usyk accepts the challenge.
