Fundora Confirms October 17 Defense Against Hadribeaj

Sebastian Fundora defends his WBC welterweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super welterweight title against mandatory challenger Ermal Hadribeaj on October 17 at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, PBC announced Tuesday.

The fight tops a TNT and DAZN tripleheader that also features WBA featherweight champion Brandon Figueroa and the return of Jermall Charlo. Fundora, who stopped Keith Thurman in March, keeps his usual twice-yearly rhythm against the Miami-based Albanian, who carries a 23-0-1 record but only eight knockouts. Hadribeaj earned his shot by upsetting Bakary Samake in a May final eliminator aired on ProBox.

Hadribeaj Warns Fundora Not To Overlook Him

Fundora, now 24-1-1 with 16 stoppages, could face an undisputed clash with either Jaron Ennis or Josh Kelly in 2027 if he handles business. Hadribeaj, meanwhile, sees the title shot as his career validation. "I'm working hard to be at my best and become world champion on October 17," he said, per Bad Left Hook. "This is what I've worked for my entire career, and I'm going to be prepared for the fight Fundora is gonna bring. If he takes me lightly, he's gonna be in for a big surprise."

Figueroa, who demolished Nick Ball to claim his belt, makes his first defense against former bantamweight champion Tomoki Kameda. The Japanese veteran dropped a split decision to Angelo Leo in his last outing and brings a 42-5 record with 23 knockouts.

Charlo opens the card against Koen Mazoudier in a rescheduled bout that was scrapped in July when Charlo failed to secure an Australian visa. The 34-0 middleweight faces the 16-4-1 welterweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super welterweight in a crossroads fight after nearly two years away from the ring. First bell is set for early evening Eastern time on October 17.
