Patricio Freire enters UFC 331 knowing the featherweight bout with Doo Ho Choi is the last on his current contract.

The former Bellator champion told Home of Fight he expects a renewal if he beats Choi at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sept. 19. "I think this is the last one," Freire said, per Sherdog. "I want to stay. I'm going to win this fight and I'm going to renew the contract."

The Brazilian has struggled since crossing over from Bellator, posting a 1-2 record in the Octagon. Freire dropped his promotional debut to Yair Rodriguez before rebounding with a decision win over Dan Ige. He then lost to Aaron Pico in his most recent outing.

Other former Bellator fighters have faced similar difficulties in the UFC. Patrick Mix has already been cut from the roster, Michael Page has yet to record a finish in the promotion, and Pico knocked out Freire after suffering a brutal stoppage loss in his own Octagon debut.
