UFC analyst Paul Felder believes Raoni Barcelos should retire from MMA after a frightening knockout loss at UFC Vegas 121 on Saturday.

Barcelos, 39, lost consciousness following a fifth-round slam by Raul Rosas Jr. in the Apex headliner and was rushed to a local trauma center. The Brazilian has since regained use of his extremities and is expected to make a full recovery, according to BJPenn.com.

Felder Cites Age And Medical Uncertainty

On a recent episode of the Believe You Me podcast, Felder questioned whether Barcelos should continue fighting given the medical emergency and his age. "Your body gave out on you to some degree," Felder said, per BJPenn.com. "Unless it comes back that it was just some fluke thing, but to get rushed to the trauma center, and you're 39?"

Felder added that the inability to pinpoint the exact cause of the medical incident makes the situation more concerning. "What if they can't even pinpoint what exactly caused that?" he said. "You've got to be done with combat sports."

Before the loss, Barcelos had strung together five straight wins, including victories over Cody Garbrandt and Payton Talbott. The bout with Rosas was widely considered one of the best fights of the year before the devastating finish.
