Fans React To UFC 317 Card – ‘One Of The Best'
The UFC 317 main card is set for June 28 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with Ilia Topuria taking on Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight title, as fans reacted to it.
Topuria, the former UFC Featherweight Champion, moves up with the aim of becoming a two-weight world champion. The belt is up for grabs following Islam Makhachev’s move to the welterweight division to pursue a second belt. Topuria arrives into the Oliveira fight with a knockout win over Max Holloway, while Oliveira has three wins from his last five.
Changes
In the co-main event, flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja looks for his fourth straight title defense as he takes on Kai Kara-France. Pantoja has won his last seven fights, while Kara-France has three wins from his previous five. However, one fight which will not happen is Brandon Royval vs. Manel Kape. This was after the news that Kape has pulled out of the fight due to a foot fracture. Royval will now take on Joshua Van instead. Van knocked out Bruno Silva in his last fight, as Kape is now focused fully on getting healthy again.
"With great regret, I come to inform that I am out of the next #UFC317 competition. "I suffered a foot fracture during the training &, after medical evaluation, I was instructed to have surgery & focus 100% on recovery. "It’s not easy to stay out of something I’ve been preparing for with so much dedication, and without a doubt this would be the most advantageous fight of my career but I understand that this is just another challenge on the way and I trust the plans that Allah has for me! I sincerely thank everyone who is with me – we remain firm, stronger with each obstacle. The battle was only postponed… I’ll be back soon!" Kape said
