Fabio Wardley Vs. Daniel Dubois Predictions – ‘He's Very Strong'
Fabio Wardley defends his WBO heavyweight title against former IBF champion Daniel Dubois on May 9, as pros picked their winner.
Wardley won the interim WBO title with an eleventh-round stoppage of Joseph Parker last October, a performance that earned him a pathway to the full title when Oleksandr Usyk vacated the WBO belt. This was after Usyk’s second-round knockout victory over Dubois at Wembley in July 2025, a fight in which Usyk dropped Dubois in the fifth round before finishing the job with a left hook.
Predictions
“I’ve backed against Wardley about the last five times, and he’s proved me wrong the last five times. I don’t even really want to back him, but if you ask me honestly, I believe Wardley will stop Daniel Dubois late in the fight,” Eddie Hearn said
“I think that this fight is going to show us and answer every question that you want. I think that you are going to see Daniel Dubois probably fight the fight of his life. I just think that you need to understand something, Daniel Dubois has got very heavy hands and he hits to the body very well, just a little bit like [Agit] Kabayel hits very well to the body as a heavyweight. So, I think that, if he boxes the way that he can fight, I think that he is going to make it very, very hard for Fabio. I just think that you are going to see the skillset of both of them and they are not going to match up,” Prince Naseem stated
More Predictions
“Obviously, Dubois. I always pick against Wardley. I seen him at this thing, and he was like you always pick against me and I were like yeah I know. But he can punch, he’s tough, he’s game, he’s awkward because he’s not textbook, he is a bit all over the show. He’s a great fighter, you know, he’s world champion, brilliant. But Dubois, for me, hits a lot harder than Parker and Huni. He can’t afford to get hit by Dubois like he got hit against Huni and Parker. I think Dubois would clean him out. But I won’t be surprised if he don’t,” Dave Allen revealed
“Wardley’s on a magic carpet ride; there’s something special going on with him. He’s physically strong; he’s a good puncher; he’s got a great chin; he’s got a great heart; he’s got a great engine. But if you really know what you’re looking at in the sport… there’s still progress to be made, learning to be done, and he’s doing it. Dubois is more complete. Dubois has an amateur background. He is a good puncher; he is athletic; he is skilled; he is very thick-boned; he’s very strong. But there’s something about the magic of Wardley I’m not going against. The area that I’ll finish this with is the most important area to me: the area of mental strength. I think he surpasses Dubois in that area. And because of that, I’ll take Wardley,” Teddy Atlas said
